Retail maintenance case study: Belstaff

Belstaff, the brand that outfitted Steve McQueen in The Great Escape (1963). This British clothing retailer is renowned for their superior range of premium leather and wax coated cotton jackets. Since its foundation in 1924, Belstaff has grown to 7 stores in the UK, plus many approved stockist. The five-storey Belstaff House, the New Bond Street flagship store contains one level of retail, head office and the brand London showroom.

Opulous Innovation was originally approached regarding the air conditioning system in Belstaff House in Mayfair, New Bond Street. The system required a full service provided by our engineers plus an F gas certification, provided by one of our approved contractors.

In the first month, our team changed over 200 lights bulbs and numerous light fittings. From this our relationship has blossomed and we now provide the store with a full maintenance package, including a bi-monthly lamp replacement service. We also cover fire extinguishers, fire alarms, plumbing, Lutron lighting andemergency lighting for the store; as well as many other services.

Due to Opulous Innovation’s specialist knowledge of the retail maintenance industry, we are now at the forefront for all Belstaff’s maintenance requirements across the UK stores and head office. In addition, we also support various departments including visual merchandising with lighting displays and fixture installations, such as the recent Archive installations in New Bond Street and Westfields.

“We’ve been working with Opulous for 12 months and are extremely happy with their service, which is both professional and quick to respond to our needs, providing tailored solutions at every level.”
